Golf With Your Friends: Quality of Life Update Out Now!

Golfers! The Quality of Life update has arrived for Golf With Your Friends!

This free update focuses on improving areas of the game that have been requested by the community! It also contains a wealth of bugfixes, to make your golfing experience even better!

Additions

  • Previously seasonally exclusive customisations have been re-enabled into the loot pool.
  • Several cosmetics that were previously unavailable on consoles are now unlockable!
  • The new Change Hole setting has been introduced! When enabled, select the Change Hole option from the pause menu to choose any hole on the course to play, including those that have already been completed. How many holes you play is up to you!
  • A new Ball Spike feature has been added! This feature is enabled by default in Dunk and can be enabled for all game modes.
  • A new revamped Practice Area!
  • Handbrake can be enabled for all game modes.
  • Turbo Charge can now be enabled in all game modes.
  • The new Total Time scoring system for Speed Golf uses each player’s total time across all holes for scoring, instead of using individual hole finishing positions.
  • Random Course Filter.
  • Host autokick has been implemented in online areas, presenting a prompt to hosts who give no input for two minutes. A further 30 seconds is given to dismiss the prompt before the host is kicked and the lobby ownership is passed to another player, who is prompted to inform them that they are now the host.
  • Players can now customise which powerups can spawn during games.
  • Players now have the ability to hide the score feed.
  • Players now have the option to enable or disable the in-game chat feature as per their preference.
  • The selected Course name now displays on the in-game Leaderboard.

Steam Level Editor

  • Course Lighting has been added! Players can now customise the lighting in their course by modifying ambient and directional light settings.
  • Object groups are now supported. Add multiple objects to a group to allow them to be moved, scaled, and rotated together!
  • New placeable water flow variants have been added.
  • Objects are now highlighted when they are selected, which improves the user experience by making it easier to differentiate the selected object from others.
  • We have added some additional easy wall builder assets to the existing options.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed several bugs on different courses where various objects and some visual effects did not pause their animation when pausing the game.
  • Some changes were made to the game’s Profanity Filter, where several words were incorrectly censored.
  • A bug was fixed where the profanity filter didn’t correctly censor words enclosed in quotes.
  • Fixed an issue where, if the player held the ‘ESC’ button during the course loading screen, the level introduction screen could be interrupted.
  • [Ancient][Hockey] Fixed some issues where, when the player’s puck was shot with high power, it could clip through certain objects and barriers on some holes.
  • [Ancient][Hockey] Fixed an issue where our free-standing goalie on Hole 18 went missing. Good news—he's back in his rightful spot!
  • [Ancient] Fixed some visual issues where some objects across the course had some black marks on them.
  • [Ancient] Fixed a bug where the water visuals on Hole 5 did not align with the water volume.
  • [Ancient] Adjusted the position of some objects on the course that were unintentionally floating in the air.
  • [Bouncy Castle] Fixed an instance of unintended invisible floor collision on Hole 5.
  • [Bouncy Castle][Dunk] Fixed a visual issue where an out of bounds water texture would render above the basketball hoop’s net when viewed from certain camera angles.
  • [Bouncy Castle] Fixed a bug where the player could fall through the floor on Hole 15.
  • [Bouncy Castle] Addressed an issue where the Fireworks SFX were triggering before players reached Hole 18.
  • [Candyland] Fixed multiple instances of clipping objects across the course.
  • [Candyland] Polished up the metallic and smooth qualities of certain materials to help soften the contrast and lessen the harshness of lighting in spots that seemed a bit too bright.
  • [Corrupted Forest] Fixed a bug that caused certain seams to display pink at the connection point of two barriers on Hole 1.
  • [Cosmetics] Fixed a visual issue where the ‘US Military Helmet’ had some texture gaps.
  • [Cosmetics][Haunted] Fixed an issue with the ‘Disco Ball’ sticker appearing too dark on the course.
  • [Deep] Fixed a problem where players could fall under the map if they shot the ball into the wooden obstacles on Hole 13
  • [Deep] Resolved a visual issue where purple bars were incorrectly displayed as bright magenta when viewed beyond the draw distance range.
  • [Deep][Hockey][Dunk] Fixed an issue where the Hockey and Dunk goal tiles on Hole 3 would appear slightly raised above the course floor.
  • [Forest][Hockey] Fixed a bug where the player puck could clip through some course barriers when shot at high power.
  • [Forest][Hockey] Fixed a collision problem with a misaligned ramp collision on Hole 15.
  • [Museum][Hockey] Fixed some issues where the player’s puck could clip through certain objects and course barriers on some holes when shot with high power.
  • [Museum] Fixed an instance of flickering barrier texture on Hole 13.
  • [Museum] Fixed some bugs where certain object types across the course were missing their collision.
  • [Museum] Fixed some minor problems where multiple instances of plants visibly clipped with different objects.
  • [Museum] Fixed some instances where the player ball did not get reset when coming to a stop in certain out of bounds locations.
  • [Museum][Hockey] Fixed a bug where curse boxes could not be activated on Hole 5 when playing with the hockey puck ball shape.
  • [Oasis] Fixed various instances of flickering bounds when playing on different modes on the course.
  • [Peaceful Pines] A bug was fixed that caused certain assets on several holes to disappear when the player camera was positioned far away while playing on Low or default Level of Detail (LoD) settings.
  • [Peaceful Pines] Fixed a bug where the flag indicator wasn’t visible in active gameplay.
  • [Pirate Cove] Adjusted a barrier on Hole 7 that appeared very dark.
  • [Space] Fixed an issue with occlusion culling on Hole 17, where the goal tile and all its content would disappear when the camera was rotated to a certain angle on the final platform.
  • [Space] Resolved a visual bug where the Flagpole on Space Hole 13 seemed to vanish when viewed from below.
  • [Space]Some of the lighting around the course was adjusted to reduce brightness in areas that were previously overexposed.
  • [The Escapists] Fixed a minor bug where a texture was missing under a ramp on Hole 15.
  • [The Escapists] Fixed some flickering texture issues that were present across the course.
  • [The Escapists] Fixed multiple instances across the course where certain objects were lacking or missing collision.
  • [The Escapists] A bug has been fixed that previously left the flagpoles on the course without flags and unresponsive to the player's ball nearby.
  • [The Escapists] Fixed some instances where certain objects had the incorrect sound effect applied when the player ball collided with them.
  • [The Escapists] Some minor lighting and texture improvements were implemented in certain locations of the course
  • [The Escapists] Fixed a couple of bugs on Hole 3 and Hole 4 where the player could fall out of bounds and not be reset.
  • [Twilight] Fixed two instances of flickering objects on Hole 10 and Hole 18.
  • [Twilight] Some lighting adjustments were made to certain assets across the course to appear more consistent and intended. These adjustments should also minimise issues that previously caused some distortion in the player ball light.
  • [Twilight] A bug was fixed for some specific terrain tiles on Hole 12, which had the incorrect sound effects and collision properties.
  • [Twilight] Fixed a visual bug where a root was clipping through the goal post on Hole 13 when playing in Hockey mode.
  • [Volcano] Fixed a bug where multiple out of bounds objects across the course were missing collision.
  • [Volcano] Fixed an issue where, if the player traversed a portal whilst in Free-cam mode on Hole 18, the camera would be teleported out of bounds.
  • [Volcano] Fixed an issue where the floors across the ringed portions of Hole 18 appeared slippery in comparison to other course floors, which caused unexpected ball behaviour.
  • [Volcano][Hockey] Fixed an issue on Hole 16, where the puck could bounce back when shooting into a specific spot on the side of a ramp.
  • [Volcano][Hockey] Fixed a problem where, on Hole 4, the player’s puck could clip through some boxes placed along the gravity wall.
  • [Volcano][Hockey] Fixed some issues where some barriers didn’t always have collision when hit at full power when playing with the player hockey puck ball shape.
  • [Volcano] Fixed a problem where the player could clip into a corner wall and become stuck on Hole 5.
  • [Volcano] Fixed an instance of invisible collision on Hole 16 along a particular wall.
  • [Volcano] Corrected some instances of missing seams and textures on the course.
  • [Volcano] A bug was fixed where the ball would not reset after stopping in a specific out of bounds location on Hole 15.
  • [Volcano] Fixed some issues with flickering textures and clipping objects across the course when playing in different modes.
  • [Volcano] Fixed an exploit where players could complete Hole 4 by flying underneath the last platform.
  • [Worms] A bug was fixed that caused a tile on Hole 5 to have an inaccurate collision compared to its visual geometry.
  • [Worms] Fixed a problem where the bomb crater decals incorrectly rendered above the bomb explosion VFX on multiple holes.
  • [Worms] Fixed a visual issue that caused the Holy Hand Grenade to briefly reappear at its spawn point after it exploded.
  • [Worms][Hockey] Fixed an issue on Hole 14 where there was an issue where the second Worm Bazooka could launch the player’s puck in an unintended direction, which made completing the hole more challenging than expected.
  • Various other minor improvements and bug fixes.

Steam Only Bug Fixes

  • [Steam/Windows][Bouncy Castle] Fixed some issues where some areas of the course had some lighting anomalies when playing on Medium Texture Quality settings or lower.
  • [Level Editor] Fixed a bug where the SFX for the ‘Engine_Castle’ object would play continuously after deleting the object or leaving the level editor.
  • [Level Editor] Fixed various objects and assets that appeared overly bright after being placed in the level editor.
  • [Level Editor] Fixed an issue where the textures on the Red_Vase_Oasis scenery asset was mapped incorrectly.
  • [Level Editor] Fixed some instances where the incorrect preview image was used for certain assets.
  • [Level Editor] Fixed some bugs where various objects from different themes appeared incorrectly rotated when placed in the editor scene.
  • [Level Editor] A problem was fixed regarding multiple P_F2_Wall assets that were incorrectly configured with the wrong Level of Detail (LOD) levels when viewed from a distance.
  • [Level Editor] Resolved a bug that caused the ball to respawn at Hole 1 while playing in test mode within the editor, regardless of which hole was being tested.
  • [Steam/Windows] An issue has been addressed regarding the Gamma and Ambient Occlusion settings, which were not functioning as intended before.
  • [Steam] Fixed an issue that caused the game to stutter for players after they sent chat messages in an online multiplayer game.
  • [Linux][Mac][Corrupted Forest] Fixed an issue where the goal tile on Hole 3 flickered when playing on Hockey mode.
  • [Steam/Windows][Cosmetics] An issue was addressed where, if the player switched tabs in the customise menu using a controller, the item highlighted by the cursor would be applied to the ball, overriding the player's selected choice.

Xbox One and Windows Only Bug Fixes

  • [Steam/Windows][Bouncy Castle] Fixed some issues where some areas of the course had some lighting anomalies when playing on Medium Texture Quality settings or lower.
  • [Steam/Windows] An issue has been addressed regarding the Gamma settings, which were not functioning as intended before.
  • [Steam/Windows][Cosmetics] An issue was addressed where, if the player switched tabs in the customise menu using a controller, the item highlighted by the cursor would be applied to the ball, overriding the player's selected choice.
  • [Windows] Fixed a localisation issue where the “Friends Only” text in online lobbies and host screens read as “Add a Keybind” when playing in Japanese.
